“Improving someone’s smile can truly change how they feel about themselves.”
Dr. Iris Skenandore, DDS
Dr. Iris was drawn to dentistry because of a genuine desire to help people feel better, both physically and emotionally. Growing up in Fullerton, California, she shadowed various dentists and quickly realized how meaningful the profession could be. She saw firsthand how dentistry wasn’t only about treating teeth; it was also about helping patients get out of pain, restoring their smiles, and watching their relief and confidence return as they left the office. The experience made a lasting impression and confirmed for her that dentistry combined everything she valued: working with people, using her hands, and making a visible difference in someone’s life.
Her passion for service deepened during a community outreach trip to Costa Rica, where she helped provide oral hygiene care to underserved communities, including many children. She spent time teaching healthy habits like brushing and flossing, and was inspired by how eager people were to learn and take steps to improve their health. Seeing how education and compassionate care could truly impact a community reinforced her commitment to dentistry and the role it can play in improving quality of life.
With that purpose in mind, Dr. Iris pursued her formal training in dentistry. She attended the University of California, Davis, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and later earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the UCLA School of Dentistry. During dental school, she was honored with the Excellence in Dental Restoration award, recognizing her strong clinical skills and attention to detail.
Today, Dr. Iris combines her clinical training with a compassionate, patient-centered approach. As a member of the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association, she stays current with the latest advancements in dentistry while maintaining the highest standards of care. She enjoys all aspects of family dentistry and takes pride in delivering treatment that is thoughtful, precise, and tailored to each patient’s needs.
Above all, Dr. Iris strives to create an environment where patients feel comfortable and confident in their care. She believes that improving someone’s smile can truly change how they feel about themselves, and she feels grateful to be part of that transformation every day.
